Best Gifts to buy on Christmas for your loved ones

I have been a gift giver for many years, and I’m still amazed at what people will buy. In my experience, the younger you are, the more likely it is that they want some sort of novelty or something that reflects their personalities.

This isn’t always true but if you pick out presents for young people with a bit more thought, there are some great gifts you can get them that they’ll really appreciate. So here is a list of awesome gifts for young people this Christmas season.

Electronics

A lot of young people love gadgets so one thing you could do is look for an old electronic device that has been restored and then give it to them as a present. Not only will it make them feel good, they’ll also be able to use it and enjoy it all year round!

If you know someone who likes gaming consoles like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 then why not buy them a game? The best games tend to come out around Christmas time so if you’re looking for something fun to give, then a game might just fit the bill. As well as being fun, it will also let them show off how much better they are than you.

There are also lots of apps these days that can be used on iPads, iPhones, Android phones and other devices. These let people do all sorts of cool stuff from playing games to making music and watching films. If your young person likes music or dancing then you could buy her/him an app that teaches them how to play instruments or dance steps. There are even apps out there that teach kids how to code!

Gadgets

If your young person likes gadgets, then a gadget is a must-have item. Lots of people in the UK don’t have computers or laptops, so buying them one makes sense. They can use it to access the internet, watch TV, listen to radio and play games.

It doesn’t matter what kind of gadget it is – whether it’s an iPod, Kindle, tablet computer, smartphone, laptop, etc. It’s up to you to decide exactly what type of item to buy (although you may find that they already own a similar item).

Once you’ve chosen which model they should go for, buy the right size memory card to put into it (they probably use USB sticks now) and download any software you need. Then write it all down and stick it in the box so they can start using it straight away!

Books

Reading is an important part of growing up and if you know someone who loves reading, then books are a wonderful present. You can buy new books, reread classics or choose from a huge range of children’s books. Some of the most popular titles include Harry Potter, Animal Farm, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Hunger Games.

Music

Another fantastic choice is music. If your young person is into music, then you should consider giving him/her an MP3 player. These are very cheap nowadays and are easy to transport. All you have to do is plug it into a power source and your young person can take it anywhere! You can buy a few songs or pay monthly for unlimited downloads.

You should also consider getting them headphones so they can listen to music without disturbing anyone else. Music is such an integral part of our lives that we forget how important it is to keep quiet when we listen to it!

Video Games

If your young person enjoys video games and is interested in technology, then you need to think about getting them a console or a PC. There are lots of different types available so you need to make sure you choose the one that fits them best. Make sure it’s powerful enough to run high quality games.

Sleeping Bags

Young people love sleeping bags because they can sleep outdoors, under trees or in tents without having to worry about bugs bothering them or cold weather affecting them. If you know someone who likes camping, then a sleeping bag is an excellent choice.

If you know they like adventure holidays, then you can get a sleeping bag and then fill it full of goodies for them to open once they get home. This way, they’ll be excited every time they unzip it!

Accessories

When you’re shopping for gifts for young people, accessories are another great idea. There are lots of great items that can be used indoors or outside, and most of them are inexpensive. Here are just a few items you might want to consider:

Dolls

If your young person likes dolls, then she really needs to check out the new Barbie collection. She comes in lots of different styles and colours and can even be customized to your young person’s specifications.

Cards

Playing cards are a classic and they come in many shapes and sizes. You can buy decks of cards or buy single deckers separately. You can also buy cards with pictures on them that you can personalise by adding names or messages to them.

Toys

Lots of toys are designed for adults, but they can also be enjoyed by children. There are lots of retro toys that youngsters will love, and there are plenty of brand-new toys too. One thing to bear in mind is that children can become addicted to certain kinds of toys, so make sure you choose something that they won’t tire of quickly.

Tools

If your young person is into the woodwork, then you need to get him/her a set of tools. You could buy a complete kit or you could buy individual bits that he can assemble together himself. Most tools are fairly affordable and you could easily spend less than £20 on each one.

Sports Equipment

Some young people like sports and would love to have a sports kit to use. Sports equipment is expensive because it requires regular maintenance, so you need to make sure you buy quality equipment and make sure you replace it regularly. Buying a sports kit for your young person will cost you quite a bit, but it’s worth it in the long run!
